Breath Sounds
The Place, 2018
The prone performers engage in a series of rocking, undulating and rolling movements which move their lips back and forth past hanging microphones. Breath rhythms gradually transform into new movements and new rhythms as the microphones fill the room with the enlarged but intimate sounds of the breath. The performers lay in a subtly changing island of light in the middle of a dark room. The darkness between the walls and the performers is a space of contemplation for the audience.
